COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

These policies and procedures have been implemented for the well being of our dancers, their families and the staff.

 

  1. You, your dancer and anyone in your home have been symptom free for at least 14 days

  2. You, your dancer and anyone in your home have not been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID – 19 or have symptoms of COVID – 19 in the last 14 days

  3. You, your dancer and anyone in your home have not traveled for at least 14 days outside of the province of Ontario

  4. If your dancer has any COVID – 19 symptoms:

    1. You will keep your dancer home

    2. You will let Like10 Dance Company know as soon as possible

  5. If you, the parent, have any COVID – 19 symptoms:

    1. Please DO NOT come to the studio

    2. Keep your dancer home

    3. You will let Like10 Dance Company know as soon as possible

  6. Dancers must enter the hallway to the studio by the front door near the dental office and NOT through the parking lot door.

  7. Please fill out a COVID – 19 assessment form located on the table at the entrance

  8. Dancer and parents must wear a face mask when entering the building

    1. Dancers must keep their face masks on until they have reached their dance square on the dance floor

    2. Dancers must wear their face masks when they use the washroom

    3. Dancers must wear their face mask when leaving the studio

    4. Individual bins will be provided for dancers to put their masks in while on the dance floor

  9. Dancers are asked to wait in the hallway using social distancing guide lines.  Please stop where indicated and wait for further instruction.

    1. Please read all signage while walking down the hallway for important information

  10. Temperatures will be taken upon entry and exiting the studio

  11. Please use the hand sanitizer provided before entering the studio

  12. Follow the markings on the floor directing you along the wall past the washroom and desk area.  Stop where indicated and wait for instruction using social distancing guide lines.  

    1. Hand sanitizer will be provided once again before entering the dance floor if needed (from washroom)

  13. Parents are NOT allowed to remain in the dance studio 

    1. Please wait outside.  

    2. You will be contacted by staff if your dancers needs assistance

  14. Please DO NOT bring siblings into the building at this point in time

    1. Make arrangements for them to stay home

    2. Have a parent wait with them

    3. Make arrangements with another family to stand by the car

      1. Do not leave any child in the car during extreme temperatures

  15. Dancers waiting in the hallway for will be told when to enter the studio

    1. Arrive no more than 5 minutes before class (this over rides main arrival policy)

    2. Once the studio door is closed, it will not reopen until the end of class

    3. Please arrive on time

  16. The dance floor has been divided into squares to allow for social distancing guide lines:

    1. Please go to the farthest square and stand in the middle

    2. Please wait patiently in your square until all dancers are on the floor

    3. Staff will guide dancers where to go

    4. Dancers will use this space for their class

    5. Dancers will be allowed to take their water into the square with them

  17. When class is over, staff will guide dancers out one at a time to meet parents

  18. Parents need to wait in the parking lot for their dancer at the end of class:

    1. PLEASE BE ON TIME

    2. Dancers will leave through the parking lot door

    3. Staff will open the door and guide the dancers out using social distancing guide lines

  19. IF parents are LATE for pick up, you will need wait until the end of the next class for your dancer:

    1. Staff need to be efficient  getting the dancers in and out of the studio

    2. Staff need to clean the dance floor between all classes

    3. Dancers NOT picked up will be asked to sit quietly in the middle of the reception area floor

  20. All classes will be 45 minutes in length to allow for 15 minutes of transition/cleaning time

  21. The dance floor will be cleaned after every class

  22. Washroom will be cleaned after every use

  23. All door handles will be cleaned after every use:

    1. Please DO NOT touch the studio door handle to enter or exit

  24. Change room is CLOSED at this time:

    1. Have your dancer arrive ready for class

    2. Dancers can put their outdoor shoes in the bin with their face masks

      1. Outdoor shoes must be removes before entering the dance studio

    3. If your dancer is not dressed appropriately for class they will not be allowed to enter the studio (Please read our main policies and procedures under dress code)

  25. We are no longer able to supply hair elastics:

    1. Please follow main policies and procedures for hair style

    2. Hair must be out of dancers face so they can see and not play with their hair through class

    3. Dancers will not be allowed into the studio if their hair is down

  26. We can no longer have a communal fridge:

    1. Please make sure your dancer arrives with a FULL water bottle

    2. We can no longer have the dancers access the water cooler

      1. Staff will use a gloved hand to refill water bottles if necessary 

      2. Send extra water if you think your dancer will need it

  27. Staff will use face masks when necessary:

    1. Helping a younger child to the washroom

    2. needing to speak privately with parents

    3. when directing dancers around the studio

    4. Will NOT be used during teaching time unless needed

  28. As per Leeds, Grenville and Lanark Health Unit guidelines face masks can be temporarily  removed while doing physical acitivity. 

  29. These policies and procedures will NOT last forever!  We need to keep our dance families safe at this time but still want our dancers to have fun!

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

LIKE10 Dance policies and Procedures are devised in an effort to offer our Dancers and Families an organized, friendly, positive and safe environment.  By enrolling in LIKE10 Dance, Dancers and Families agree to adhere to all LIKE10 Dance policies and Procedures.

 

CONDITIONS OF ENROLLMENT

 

Fees are due at time of enrollment.  Payments can be made in full by cheque.  A payment plan can be made for monthly payments.  A late fee of $30 will be applied to all accounts over thirty days.  If payment has not been received within forty-five days, Dancers will NOT be permitted into class.

 

You must accept these policies and procedures online to participate in classes.

 

Cheques, echecks, and credit card declines from the bank for any reason are subject to a $50.00 administration charge.  Please make sure to update your credit cards and banking information as it changes if need be.

 

LIKE10 Dance reserves the right to ask any disruptive individual, dancer or parent to leave the premises. Should Like10 Dance Company staff hear, see or be informed of any rude remarks or misbehaviors there will be a meeting held with the dancer and parent for the first offense and a nonrefundable dismissal from our studio for the second offense.

 

LIKE10 Dance is NOT responsible for dancers before or after class.  Please make sure your dancer is safely inside the studio before class and promptly picked up after class.  Parents are asked to come in to pick up their dancers.  Teachers are only responsible during class time.

 

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, we are asking that only one parent remain in the studio/reception area during your dancers class.  No siblings.

 

Parents are NOT allowed into the studio area during class time, unless otherwise stated.  Parents will periodically be invited into the class to watch for the last five minutes.

 

If a relative will be picking the dancer up, please inform the studio in writing and provide a name and address.  The person picking up the dancer will be asked to confirm the information.  This is to make sure our dancers are always safe.

 

COMMUNICATION

 

We work diligently to keep families well informed.  Information will be provided in our Newsletter, Facebook page, Bulletin Board in waiting area and through email.  It is the responsibility of the dancers and their families to stay current on policies, news and events.

 

Newsletters will provide important information about class schedules, reminders, recitals, costumes, and studio information.  Newsletters will be handed out to each dancer, posted on bulletin board in waiting area, emailed, and posted on Facebook.  Please make sure LIKE10 Dance has your correct email address.

 

Please note that LIKE10 Dance does not give out faculty contact information.  If you need to speak to an instructor, please call or email the studio.

 

Should a dancer be absent from class, please let the studio know.  Making sure that everyone is safe is our priority.

 

If your dancer has a medical condition or injury, please inform the studio.  

 

STUDIO, WAITING AREA, CHANGE ROOM AND WASHROOM

 

Please help us keep a quiet and respectful waiting area.  Young children not dancing need to be supervised at all times by their parent.

 

Please remove all wet boots and shoes outside the studio.  Shelving will be provided for footwear.

 

Only water is permitted in the studio area. NO food, juice, pop, candy, etc will be allowed in the studio area.  Gum chewing is not permitted inside the studio ANYWHERE.

 

Dancers are to arrive five minutes before their scheduled class time prepared for class.  Dancers should be dressed in appropriate dance attire.  Hair should be pulled off the face in a ballerina bun or ponytail.  No dangly jewelry.  Please see Dress Code.

 

Cell phones are to be kept with dancer’s belongings and turned to mute.  If a dancer is afraid of theft, there will be an area in the studio where cell phones will be kept.  They are NOT to be used during class time.  Parents are asked to mute their phone when entering the studio.

 

Please have your dancer use the washroom before class starts.

 

ATTENDENCE AND STUDIO CLOSURE

 

Please try to keep missed classes to a minimum.  Dancers will miss out on important choreography for recitals and valuable dance training.  No refund will be given for missed classes.  Private classes can be booked for dancers to catch up on what they have missed for a fee of $45.00 per hour.

 

LIKE10 Dance will be closed on all statutory holidays.  

 

Should LIKE10 Dance need to close for bad weather or any natural disaster out of our control, classes will not be rescheduled.  We will make every effort to keep the studio open, however the safety of our instructors and dancers are most important. 

 

RECITAL INFORMATION

 

There will be a recital in May/June and December.  It is expected that all dancers will participate.  Please let LIKE10 Dance know as soon as possible if your dancer will not participate.  All recital information will be handed out, posted on Facebook and emailed to families with lots of notice.  

 

Costumes will be required for May/June recital.  Parents will be given plenty of notice of costume fees.  No refund for costumes once they have been ordered.

 

Please be advised your dancers picture maybe taken for advertising purposes or Facebook/Instagram posts.  Let us know in writing if you do not want your dancer included in advertising pictures or posted on Facebook.

 

 

INJURIES/SICKNESS

 

Like in all sports, injuries are possible.  The teachers at Like10 Dance will do their best to make sure all dancers are safe.  Like10 Dance and their teachers are not responsible for any injuries that might occur during class time.  Should any injuries occur, Like10 Dance will notify parents using contact information given. 

 

Like at school or other public areas, germs and viruses are present.  Although we thoroughly clean the studio after every class and deep clean on a regular basis these germs and viruses can still be present during class time.  Parents are asked to keep their dancers home when not well and to follow physical distancing guidelines, dancer can still get sick.  Like10 Dance Company is not responsible for any illnesses a dancer or family member may contract while in the studio.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

 

The studio has the right to combine or cancel classes if registration is low.

 

If for any reason a class needs to be cancelled for bad weather or special circumstance, an email will be sent out and a post made on the LIKE10 Dance Facebook/Instagram page.  It is the parent’s responsibility to confirm cancelled classes.

 

If you chose to withdraw your dancer after the second week a $50 registration fee will be withheld from your refund.  After the third week of classes a refund of 50% will be offered.  No refunds offered after the fourth week of classes should you decide to pull out of classes.  Full payment or installment are  due even if you withdraw from a class. The decision to withdraw from any classes must be given in writing to LIKE10 Dance.

 

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

 

Circumstances out of our control is defined as events that happen outside of human control.  These events could be flooding, tornados, snowstorms, or other natural disasters which no one can be responsible.

 

Additional circumstances outside of our control would be pandemics, viruses and communicable diseases.

 

All these circumstances may force the closure of the studio.  In this case, NO refunds, credits, discounts or the cancellation of future installments will be offered.  We will make every possible effort to make sure your classes continue.  For example: FaceTime privates, Google Hangout privates, Microsoft Teams, classes or exercises posted on Facebook and Instagram, email lessons, etc.

 

This policy also applies to all International Students.

 

DRESS CODE

 

Parents will have the first two weeks of classes to acquire the appropriate dance attire.  Dancers are allowed to miss dress code on one more class after the initial two weeks before they are asked to sit out of class. NO EXCEPTIONS.  Dress code is for the safety of dancers.

 

*If your dancers arrives in jeans, jeggings, onesies, pajamas, etc they will automatically be asked to sit out of class.  This is because these items restrict movement and is unsafe.  This applies from the very first class of each session. 

 

**Hair must always be off your dancers face.  They will be asked to sit out if their hair is not in a ballet bun, ponytail, or have an elastic headband (for short hair)

 

            BALLET GIRLS:

  • Leotard – any color, style or sleeve length

  • Ballet pink tights

  • Pink ballet shoes

  • Ballet skirt optional

  • Hair – ballet bun or off face with elastic headband for short hair

  • No dangly jewelry – necklace, bracelet, long earrings, etc

 

BALLET BOYS:

  • Black tights or leggings

  • White or black t-shirt

  • White socks

  • Black ballet shoes

  • Hair off face

  • No dangly jewelry – necklace, bracelet, long earrings, etc

 

JAZZ GIRLS:

  • Black leggings

  • Black or beige tights

  • Black booty shorts

  • Leotard, sports bra or tight fitting tank top – any color

  • Black slip on jazz shoes

  • Hair off face in a ponytail or bun 

  • No dangly jewelry – necklace, bracelet, long earrings, etc
